Grace Coffee was born in 2026, in the heart of Surkhet—a city that is growing, changing, and full of new possibilities. As the capital of Karnali Province, Surkhet is no longer just a gateway to remote regions; it is becoming a place where ideas, culture, and modern lifestyles come together.

When my wife, Muna Thapa, and I (Nissan Gharti Magar) first dreamed of opening a café, we saw more than just a business opportunity. We saw a need—a cozy space where people could slow down, connect, and feel at home. In a city like Surkhet, where life is peaceful yet evolving, we wanted to create a place that reflects both tradition and modern living.

The name “Grace” represents calmness, kindness, and simplicity. These are the values we bring into every cup of coffee we serve.

In the early days, we were not alone. My brother-in-law, Amin Thapa, who had experience as a barista, joined us and played an important role in shaping the beginning of our coffee journey. Alongside him, our church community became a strong support system. Prakash Lama, Bhabisara Thapa, and Mahalaxmi Chaudhary joined us, bringing dedication, encouragement, and a shared vision that helped turn our dream into reality.

Building Grace Coffee was not an easy journey. It came with challenges, learning experiences, and a lot of dedication. But every step was worth it—to create a place people can truly call their own.

Today, Grace Coffee is more than just a coffee shop. It is a space where friends meet, ideas grow, and moments are shared. As Surkhet continues to develop, we are proud to be part of its journey—serving not just coffee but creating meaningful experiences.

Grace Coffee is our story—and now, it is becoming a part of yours.
